Gingham: the fashion go-to print for spring 2017

You clearly know summer is around the corner when you find yourself wearing gingham on repeat. One of the many things I love about this print is how it can bring any outfit to life. Switch your regular off shoulder top with a gingham one or swap those basic tailored trousers with a check printed pair and you will notice the jaw dropping difference. The struggle of elevating our summer attire will go away by integrating a picnic-friendly check piece into our outfits. If you haven’t tried gingham yet, then I got no idea what you are waiting for.

Perfect for both spring and summer, gingham made me feel ten times more cheerful than usual. How is that even possible? Well, I got no clue, but this print gave me a good vibe and the pictures below can definitely prove that. Twirled on the streets like no one was watching (besides the 465478329 locals and tourists that passed by and took pictures of me, just hoping I don’t look like a baboon in 99% of them). But oh well, I enjoyed spinning around in this breezy outfit which might turn into my new summer uniform. After all, nothing can beat an off shoulder gingham top mixed with a red pleated midi skirt, right?! Spiced things up some more by pairing the look with the pink Gucci loafers, tinted sunglasses and straw accessories. How do you like it?

On a different note, sorry for not posting on Monday. I was quite stressed and lacked motivation so I decided on taking the day off. Spent it by napping, cooking, doing groceries and catching up on Narcos. Disconnecting for a few hours was all I needed for coming back with fresh powers. How do you find motivation when you feel down? xx

  3. I’m loving the fact that gingham is back again this season, it’s such a perfect print for both spring and summer, as you’ve stated. Kind of synonymous with the seasons as plaid is with fall.   18. Bet all on the red, babe! Absolutely obsessed with how you styled the oh-so-much-seen gingham print and the midi skirt. I am pinning some of these shots as they are really cool! When I lack inspiration I do the same as you: have extra chocolate intake, binge watch series or read a book that I will enjoy. In my opinion, keeping it real (away from social media) and spending time with your loved ones is also key to charged batteries!

This gingham look with the wonderful midi skirt in red is an absolute killer look and I’m sure you’re not looking anything even remotely close to a baboon in any of those pics all the people took of you, haha. As for a social detox, that’s much needed and I try to take at least one day off every week, otherwise you get to the point where you truly lack motivation. So spending a day napping and looking at Narcos is exactly what you should do every now and then!

    Disconnecting sometimes can be very therapeutic! I think my style is the same as yours. Just chill at home watching TV, cooking and just relaxing in general!

  42. This look is super duper cute and incredibly Parisian. I would imagine lots of twirling and skipping if I am wearing this look as well. I am also loving those straw tote and hat as accessories, perfect compliment to any gingham look.
