How Gucci loafers can help you stay stylish when traveling

Even though red is my all time favorite color, pink has a warm spot in my heart. Last year I have discovered that I secretly loved this shade, and believe it or not, it was hard admitting it. As a self declared tom boy, coming to this conclusion was a little odd, but one year later, I find myself purchasing more and more items in this color. Now you can imagine the high temptation I faced when seeing these Gucci loafers in the shade that melts my heart. The choices were fuchsia along with mustard and the decision was though because I really loved both pairs. Wish I got both, but for once in my life I chose not to be greedy and get only one pair, and as you can see the winner was pink.

Although I didn’t plan on over spending, the unpredictable happened after seeing all the goodies in one of the shopping centers from Netherlands. Before traveling I had already planned on purchasing a pair of Gucci Ace heart embroidered sneakers and a leather belt with interlocking G buckle, so these loafers and the Prada bag weren’t on my list, but yeah, shopping can be unpredictable. Managed to get the belt on a late Friday evening and I almost ended up getting a Gucci bag as well, but somehow I am glad I chose not to. Left the store a little sore because I couldn’t find the sneakers in Berlin and I was leaving on early Sunday, which meant I wouldn’t be able to check another store. Since the shops were closed over the weekend, I took my mind off them and started scouting for Gucci stores in The Netherlands. In my long search for the Ace heart embroidered sneakers, I ran into the iconic Gucci loafers and I simply had to get them. The fit, color, leather and services were perfect so I happily reproduced the famous meme “shut up and take my money”.

Ended up wearing the Gucci loafers for the first time at the Keukenhof garden, which by the way was magical. Took a bunch of pictures in there and experimented a lot with portraits (excuse my terrible skin, I always get dry skin mixed with acne when traveling. If you have any tips on how to cure that, hit me up). The place was overly crowded, which meant taking blog pictures was off the table. However we decided to stroll through the garden and take spontaneous shots in different spots. Can you guess which were my favorite spots? Obviously the Asian inspired ones. There is something about their culture and aesthetics that feels like a magnet attracting me. Shot some pictures on the bridge with the cherry blossom trees in the back. The view was so gorgeous, it almost felt like I was in Japan. Sakura petals were flowing in the air, giving the whole place a fairy tale vibe. Anyways, there will be a special post about Keunkenhof coming on the website soon. Took pictures and videos of almost all the flowers in there, so it will take a while to pick the best ones and edit them.

On a different note, I was also planning on talking about how to stay stylish when traveling. Since we are not able to carry our entire wardrobe with us, it comes handy to pick our most favorite items, which best define our style. For me those are: graphic tees (I was wearing one underneath the trench), suit pants, jeans, leather jackets, scarves and trench coats. Now we all know suit pants look 10 times chicer than jeans and they are also extremely comfortable, but what can we do if we love denim pants more? Elevate them with fancy tops and jackets. I like making my casual outfits look more pulled together by knotting a scarf around my neck. That trick always works like a charm! But there comes a time when the scarves I own don’t work with the outfit I’m wearing, thing which happened at Keukenhof, when I had to come up with some different styling idea. Belted the trench coat and covered my dark circles with the biggest sunnies I had on hand. The trench made the outfit look sleek and mysterious. So my advice would be: pack a statement jacket that can cover your outfit in case you feel like you’re not dressed at your best. Also opt for comfortable yet timeless pieces along with on trend ones.

P.S. Thank you for all the questions you dropped on Instagram! Will shoot the anniversary outfit during this weekend and will probably post it along with the answers to your questions on Monday or Wednesday! Still got a lot of work to do, but will do my best to get this done first :). Once again thank you for all your support, my journey wouldn’t be possible without having all of you by my side. Love every each one of you! xx

  13. This is such an awesome post! I am going to travel to Europe in October and I have NO idea what I am going to pack! It’s dreadful just thinking about it, but I do have to invest in a long coat to cover up by repeated outfits since I will also have to pack “light” lol. You have a new follower. Have a lovely weekend!

  14. I wouldn’t have guessed that you are a secret pink lover, but we all surprise ourselves sometimes. I used to be all black back when I was younger, and now I’m wearing a lot more colors (like white and gray…lol) Those Gucci loafers are def a great staple and I’m glad that you chose a more vibrant color.

I seriously love that idea. It’s so hard to plan what to pack. Then I get to my destination and don’t wear half the stuff I wanted to. I need a coat like this in my life. It’ll help keep me warm 🙂

  21. Oh girl, I absolutely adore these loafers, they are super versatile and easy to style with different outfits. I agree a style like those are the perfect complement when traveling, especially at the airport when you usually have to walk long distances. With a pair like these, you’ll be comfy without losing your style.

    Have a nice day!

  22. Babe, your photos are BEAUTIFUL! There’s nothing like some sakura blossoms to prettify any setting 🙂 I can’t wait for the full post on the Keukenhof garden! But I disgress, I meant to say that I’m so glad you were able to purchase so many gorgeous items! It’s always nice to succeed in getting one of the items you set out to get like the belt, but how nice is it to find an unexpected gem like those loafers? They look phenomenal on you, and the pop of pink is perfect for spring. And I completely feel you on not wanting to admit color creeping into our wardrobes lol. It’s like me and yellow- I’m the farthest from wearing such bright colors but yellow always has a soft spot in my heart heh. Your tips on looking stylish while traveling are so on point as well (you really always have the best style tips!). Love the idea of bringing suit pants, and if all else fails, throwing on a super chic jacket to cover it all up. Sounds like so many exciting posts are in the pipeline, and I can’t wait for you to share them with us! In the meantime I’ll happily do a double take and soak in your gorgeous photos from this post alone some more. Thanks for sharing love!
