A travel guide to Istanbul in 72 hours: Top 10 things to see and do part I

I’ve been traveling to a bunch of countries and cities, but I haven’t seen anything as beautiful as Istanbul before. Unfortunately I could spend only three days in there, but I tried to make the most out of them. Explored a lot, walked like crazy but I didn’t feel tired at all. This city filled me with energy and good vibes and my journey wouldn’t have been the same without the help of Deniz and Zori. Should check our their pages, because they are really sweet and talented. But now, back to the guide, I have to split it in two or three parts due to having way too many photos to share. If you are planning on visiting Istanbul, then make sure you will have comfortable shoes with you, because you will have to walk a lot. These Ego mules were such life savers!! Now I hope you will enjoy the first part of the travel guide. Wishing you all an amazing weekend. xx

What I wore in Istanbul

1.Drink Turkish coffee & tea (or çay)

Turkish tea and coffee are a huge part of the Turkish hospitality. They are served in every coffee shop, pub, restaurant or house you will go to. If you love strong coffee, then this will definitely be your thing.

2.Enjoy the diverse street art

3.Indulge yourself with baklava, Turkish delight, Turkish ice cream (or dondurma) and fresh fruits

Baklava is one of the most common desserts served in Turkey and it’s made of layers of filo which are filled with finely chopped nuts and sweetened with honey or syrup. A little too sweet for me, but it’s worth trying at least once.

Fresh fruit stands can be found at almost every corner and they make a cool backdrop for your touristic photos.

Turkish ice cream is also known as dondurma, which includes ingredients such as sugar, milk, mastic and salep.

4.Explore the crowded streets of Taksim

Taksim Square is situated in Beyoğlu in the European part of Istanbul, Turkey. This is one of the major touristic places which is well known for the shops, hotels and restaurants.

5.Get lost in the beautiful backstreets

Explore some of the local neighborhoods where you will be able to get a glimpse at the genuine day-to-day life of Istanbul.

6.Stop and take a glimpse at the diverse architecture

The architecture of Istanbul contains buildings, a lot of statues, and functional constructions which are inspired by Byzantine, Genoese, Ottoman, and modern Turkish sources.

7.Enjoy the unexpected moments on the street

Experienced a lot of magical moments, but the one I cherished the most was when a random street seller started blowing soap bubbles at me. Had to capture the moment and now looking at the photo it makes me realize that such little things make us the happiest.

8.Visit Galata Tower

The Galata Tower — called Christea Turris by the Genoese — is a medieval stone tower in the Galata/Karaköy quarter of Istanbul, Turkey, just to the north of the Golden Horn’s junction with the Bosphorus.

9.Explore every hidden corner

You will be surprised by all the cool things you will find if you keep your eyes wide opened.

10.Watch the sunset

  12. I am sure you had a great time in Istanbul, dear! Those pics are amazing and really show the vibe of the city (or at least through your lens). I am curious about Turkish coffee but not particularly fond of baklava, as I also find it very sweet 😛 Love the bubble pic, you look so happy and of course your outfit on point as always! Sending you lots of love from sunny England (yay!)

  13. Love it! ♥

  14. Istanbul is on my lists of must visits. So this list is going to come in handy sooner rather than later. I would love to try real Turkish coffee, I’ve had the fake stuff but I’m sure it doesn’t compare to the real stuff. I would love to get lost in the beautiful backstreets. And of course, your outfit is cute as ever.

The architecture looks amazing and there are so many people walking around.
I haven’t tried Turkish coffee so that would be high on my list.
Lastly – your outfit looks super comfy and I always need comfort when traveling.
