The easy way to layering a maxi dress

First of all, sorry for my long absence on the blog. As you probably know, I’ve spent the last few days in Istanbul and I could barely find any spare time for editing nor posting. Been exploring the city all day long and what I need to say is that I was amazed by how beautiful this city can be. Came back wishing I could have stayed a little longer, but hopefully I’ll manage to revisit it again soon :). However, I took a bunch of photos and I am super excited to share them all with you. There will also be a travel guide coming up soon, but in the meanwhile you can check out the red maxi dress I wore for the first day in Istanbul.

While getting out the hotel, I could notice this colorful shop down the street and I thought it would make the perfect backdrop for this flowy red maxi dress. My friend Deniz laughed at me when hearing I wanted to take a couple of photos in front of it, but guess what?! The result was pretty cool and colorful. A bunch of locals passed by, stared and thought I was a real model. Although, I guess I should feel flattered about that, haha. With this in mind, I’ve been exploring the city in a casual red maxi dress and striped tee combo along with my friend. We went by the Bosphorus Bridge, took photos in front of Dolmabahçe Palace and finished the night by having the most delicious dinner ever. After dinner we strolled through Bebek Park, ate macaroons and checked the local fair. Stay tuned to find out more!

How was your week so far? xx

    Very pretty maxi dress!
    The pics looks great. 🙂

  4. I think your request to take these photos in front of the fruits and vegetables was brilliantly on point. 🙂 The colors look fantastic, especially with that bright red dress that you’re wearing! And it’s extremely refreshing finding hidden corners and unexpected places when traveling rather than taking a typical tourist shot. Those are great, but sometimes the creativity really starts flowing away from the busy areas.

  12. You are a layering expert. I would never think to layer a maxi dress, and those are my favorite shoes 🙂 I went to the Bahamas and thought I would be able to work while I was gone but I was wrong. there wasn’t enough time.

  13. This really is such a joyful post! The pictures are so vibrant and appealing. The setting is so perfect for this fabulous red Maxi dress and it looks very pretty layered over the striped shirt. I can’t wait to see more of your pictures!

  14. I LOVE this Zara dress and you couldn’t have picked a better location to take these shots. The fruit stand is adorable and totally coordinates well with your layered dress. The white sunnies are my fav accessory for the summer and really makes this outfit pop as well. Love how you styled this with the casual tennies too. Amazing babe! xoxo, Christine

  16. Ahh, what a perfect way of layering a summery maxi dress (I should probably get one, but I am always afraid of looking like a shorty in it!), and the fruit stall matches your look like it was done on purpose. Absolute perfection, babe! Xx

No worries babe! I think it’s great you took some time to enjoy yourself before committing back to social media.
Wow I love this photoshoot you did, the background and colours just worked so well with your predominately red outfit (which you know is my fav colour!!)
I love how you layered it over a casual striped T shirt which gave it such a casual and fun element to your maxi dress. Especially finished off with those fabulous heart Gucci sneakers. The perfect outfit in my opinion!

  21. Great idea to stop in the produce market to take these pics, as it really does make the perfect backdrop for that beautiful maxi! I don’t recall ever layering a maxi, but this would be my first inspiration. Striped tees usually go well with anything anyway, so I am all over this look, sneakers included!

  24. Aww girl, I’ve always loved your photo shoots. They are full of life and so bright, like a movie shot! And I love that french way you style every single outfit, that’s so lush.
And as always you found just the perfect location for this particular look. What can be better than the grocery shop with all its splash of colour?

  25. No wonder the locals thought you were a real model as the truth is, you ARE a real model. You don’t have to be signed for an agency to be a model. All you need are loyal followers who adore your style and I’m one of them. Choosing to shoot in front of this colorful spot really adds to the uniqueness of the maxi dress and your lovely styling! 🙂
