The key pieces you need for mastering the art of layering

As the temperature starts dropping and the snow starts kicking in, we all feel the need of bundling in the coziest sweater and oversize coat. But why give up on style only because it’s cold outside? Try layering instead, use your favorite items that you can’t give up on, such a leather jacket and a crisp white button down shirt. And I doubt there is anyone on this planet who does’t love these timeless pieces.

Winter and fall are the best seasons to get to test your layering skills, so why not go ahead and start experimenting? I would suggest making all your layers thin so you can avoid looking bulky. Opt for natural garments such as silk, cotton, cashmere and then start layering. The base can be a button down shirt or a mini dress with a fun frill detail over which you can add a cashmere turtleneck or a chunky knit. If you’re not warm enough then keep adding some more layers.

My extra layer for today was a burgundy leather jacket, but you can always opt for a blazer, a bomber jacket, a cardigan or whatever you like best. In fact, there is no better way to counter the cold winter days than with fun layers and bright colors. How do you stay warm when it’s ridiculously cold? x

oh wow babe your layering game on point! It’s so cold in canada especially this time of the year so i’m always stuck on what to wear and if its enough to stay warm!
I try to layer but i always end up looking bulky, but i love your tip on just wearing thin pieces but adding dimension to them.
I’m so surprise that burgundy jacket is from shein! Honestly I had some bad experiences on their clothing quality and service, but i guess theres a few good in their catalogue after all.
    Overall, Perfect look babe!

  14. Such beautiful layering which not only looks warm and cozy, but classy and elegant at the same time! When it’s ridiculously cold outside I put on layer after layer, but with that said I don’t go as long as long johns, haha. I prefer to freeze instead.
